Mary and Aaron’s Wedding at16 Bay View in Camden, Maine
01 Oct 2018, Posted by Wedding Photography inMary and Aaron were destined to be together. They met quite by luck one evening in New York City. Mary, who was living there at the time, was out having dinner with two friends. She bumped into Aaron, who had just finished up a business trip and was getting a bite to eat before heading home to North Carolina. Aaron, always the southern gentleman, struck up a conversation, and the two of them chatted the whole night. They exchanged numbers and started dating long distance.
Before long, Mary knew that Aaron was “the one,” so she packed up her things and moved to North Carolina. Isn’t life funny and a little bit wonderful – to meet the love of your life in a chance encounter just hours before he’s about to leave town?
This past New Year’s Day, Aaron proposed. He called a family meeting on the living room floor with Mary and their two dogs, Norman and Tucker, to discuss what they all wanted to do in the new year. Mary had a few ideas, and so did Norman and Tucker. Then Aaron asked, “How about we get married?”
Eight months later, Mary and Aaron were exchanging vows in front of family and friends at the High Mountain Hall in Camden, Maine. It was a lovely ceremony, and they looked so happy!
They chose 16 Bay View for their reception location, a newly-converted boutique hotel right in the heart of Camden. This was our first time photographing at 16 Bay View, as the hotel only recently started hosting events. We really enjoyed it! The lowest level of the hotel features a chic reception room that’s true to the building’s roots, with exposed brick and thick steel beams. The room opens onto a side lot, which, in this case, was easily converted into cocktail space, replete with tables, string lights, and a bar.
The evening was filled with food, toasts, cake, and dancing – you name it. Everyone had a great time! The weather was lovely, exactly the type of summer’s night you’d hope for when getting married in a place as beautiful as Maine.
We really enjoyed photographing Mary and Aaron’s wedding. It was a privilege working with this amazing couple, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together! Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their special day.
