We’re so happy for Mahala and Michael! These two met during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic and finally tied the knot during a loving ceremony at the Bar Harbor Inn, one of our favorite venues in Bar Harbor, Maine.

When they’re not getting married, Mahala and Michael like to camp, boat, and spend time with their adorable two-year old son, Franklin. As you might imagine, it was difficult to get away during those early months of the pandemic. Bar Harbor was the first place that Mahala and Michael visited together, and so it was the obvious choice when it came time to get married.

For me (Lexi), photographing Mahala and Michael’s wedding was particularly special. Five years ago, I had the privilege of photographing Mahala’s senior portrait session in Acadia National Park. It has been so much fun to come full circle and watch that vibrant, young, soon-to-be high school grad grow into a beautiful bride and loving mother.

Mahala and Michael had fantastic weather for their wedding, particularly for early October. The sun was beaming almost as brightly as the happy couple, as Mahala and Michael said their I-Do’s on the lawn of the Bar Harbor Inn. A joyous ceremony soon gave way to an afternoon of food and dancing inside the Inn’s Reading Room, a grand space with high ceilings that overlooks Frenchman Bay. Later that afternoon, once the hustle and bustle had stopped and the guests had gone on their merry way, Mahala and Michael capped off their day with a last dance alone together.
