Join us in congratulating Kelsey and Merle! They were married on a what turned out to be a lovely (after the rain passed) June afternoon at Enchanted Gables in Oakland, Maine. You might remember these two from their engagement session back in September. They were even more adorable on their wedding day than they were last fall, and we had a great time photographing them and their families.

We started photography coverage at the venue. Enchanted Gables has a large bridal suite, which was the perfect spot for Kelsey and her bridesmaids to get ready. Everyone was so happy for the day ahead, it was hard not to share in the excitement. Matt photographed Kelsey’s bridal details and the event space, while I captured Kelsey and her ladies getting their hair and makeup done.

Before long, it was time for the ceremony. Even though it had rained earlier in the day, the sun was out in time for the big moment. Kelsey arrived by horse-drawn carriage and soon joined Merle, who was waiting in anticipation near the arbor. After a few heartfelt words by the pastor, Kelsey and Merle said their vows, exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a kiss!

The rest of the day was filled with merriment. There was dancing, cake, and good company all around. After a while, we borrowed the happy couple for portraits. Enchanted Gables has a cute little duck pond on premise, and we were sure to incorporate it into a few pictures. Kelsey and Merle were so much fun to photograph, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off our summer wedding season.
