Katie and Mike first met when they were both working at Harvard Business School. Mike worked in the IT department, and Katie was having a lot of tech-related problems at the time. Thinking back on that period in their lives, Katie said, “It was the first of many problems, technical and otherwise, that Mike fixed!”

This wonderful couple got married in mid-May at Point Lookout Resort in Northport, Maine. Point Lookout is a 387 acre mountainside resort featuring fully furnished cabins and several banquet halls. Atop the mountain sits the Summit, a beautiful hall with panoramic views of the ocean in all directions. This is where Katie and Mike chose to have their ceremony and reception. As photographers, we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque location, and the weather was perfect, too!

Katie and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the adjoining rooms at the Summit. The room was decorated with all sorts of neat old books (just like a library), and the ladies had a wonderful time joking, laughing, and preparing for Katie’s big day. Mike and his groomsmen, meanwhile, were down toward the base of the mountain getting ready in one of the cabins. Mike had special-ordered each groomsman a personalized pair of video game-inspired cuff links, with references to Zelda, Mega Man, Donkey Kong, and others. They were really neat.

Katie and Mike chose to have a first look in the Castine Room, a quiet little spot away from everyone. They were both so happy to see each other, and Mike had a hard time keeping back the tears!

Soon it was time for the ceremony. In front of a gorgeous ocean view, Katie and Mike were married by their friend, Andrew. Katie and Mike had come all the way from Massachusetts to get married on the Maine coast, and, after years of visiting the state together, they were finally husband and wife!

The rest of the evening was filled with toasts, dinner, and lots of dancing. Guests had visited from all over to celebrate with Katie and Mike, and everyone had such an amazing time partying the night away. Matt and I had a great time, too, photographing all the moments and details that went into Katie and Mike’s special day. It was such a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple, and we really enjoyed working with Katie and Mike. We wish them much happiness now and in the future!
