Katie and Brian’s Wedding atthe Rockcraft Lodge in Sebago, Maine
21 Nov 2022, Posted by Wedding Photography inJoin us in congratulating Katie and Brian! These two have known each other since they were ten years old, and they finally tied the knot during a lovely wedding ceremony at the Rockcraft Lodge on Sebago Lake this past October.
It’s not every day that you get to marry your childhood friend. But that’s exactly what Katie and Brian did! Way back in the day, they used to swim on the same summer swim team. Then, when they were old enough, they worked at the same country club. Finally, they started dating one winter during high school while teaching swim lessons together. In this day and age, it’s almost hard to believe that two people could stay so close during their formative years and cap it all off by saying I-do, but Katie and Brian are clearly meant to be each other. How special to find “the one” so early in life?
When they’re not getting married, Katie and Brian like to spend time outdoors swimming (of course), biking, and walking. They also enjoy curling up on the couch and watching a good movie, or sitting down for an engaging game of cribbage.
Katie and Brian have family ties to Maine, and they hope to move here one day. So, it’s not surprising they chose Maine for their wedding destination, even though they live in Colorado. From the get-go, they knew they wanted a relaxed, organic wedding without all the traditions of most weddings. They also wanted a space where they could spend a few days with friends and family while enjoying Maine’s beauty. With all that in mind, the Rockcraft Lodge was the perfect choice. The Rockcraft sits on 10 acres overlooking Sebago Lake. It can sleep up to 23 people and accommodate weddings of up to 200 guests. It’s such a classy, fun, and well-appointed venue, and we were excited to have the opportunity to photograph there once again.
It was a pleasure working with Katie and Brian. They are both such nice, sincere people, and it’s obvious they love each other very much. They were both so quick to laugh, and they always knew what the other person was thinking – kind of like two people who’ve known each other since they were ten! Brian looked very stylish in his three-piece suit, and Katie stole the show in her custom wedding dress, which was adapted from her mother’s wedding dress. How neat is that? The whole day was just one special moment after another, with everyone enjoying great food, company, lawn games, and other festivities.
We wish Katie and Brian many years of happiness together, and we’re grateful to have spent the day photographing them and their wonderful guests. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout the day. Until later!
