Say hello to Kat and Jon! They came all the way from Chicago to get married during a lovely ceremony at the Camden Amphitheatre in Camden, Maine. Why Camden? Well, Kat grew up in Belfast, which is right nearby. She and Jon knew that Maine’s natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere were what they wanted in a wedding retreat, and Camden is a beautiful coastal town with all sorts of Maine charm. So, really, it was the perfect spot.

Kat and Jon got engaged in May of last year, while on a bike ride to North Avenue Beach in Chicago. Jon stopped and popped the question on a scenic section of overlook with the city skyline in the background. Clearly, it had been well planned, because several of their friends were hiding out, waiting to take pictures. Of course, Kat said yes, and the rest is history!

These two love to hike and travel together, and one of their favorite pastimes is to cuddle their dog, Knox. As dog lovers ourselves, we whole heartedly approve of doggy snuggles.

Kat and Jon couldn’t have asked for better weather on their wedding day. There was hardly a cloud in the sky, and the temperatures were in the 80’s – a rare feat for Maine in mid-May. The happy couple said their I-do’s under an arbor built by Kat’s dad, which made the wedding all the more special. Kat and Jon both looked so incredibly happy all throughout the ceremony, they couldn’t stop laughing and smiling.

After the ceremony, we borrowed Kat and Jon for pictures around Camden before we all headed off to 16 Bay View, one of the area’s finest hotels, for the reception. It was a fun night filled with dinner and dancing.

We had a great time spending the day with Kat and Jon, and we wish them much happiness in the years to come. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their wedding day. Enjoy!
