Last September, Matt and I had the privilege of photographing Kaleigh and Danielle’s fun, intimate wedding on Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine. The Beach is a long, gorgeous stretch of sand that looks directly out toward the ocean, and Kaleigh had been coming to the beach with her family for a long time. Danielle proposed to Kaleigh at Goose Rocks, so it only made sense that they would get married there!

For Matt and me, our day began when we arrived at the Ocean Woods Resort, where Kaleigh and Danielle were both getting ready. We were greeted by Kaleigh’s mom, who was so sweet and immediately made us feel right at home. Kaleigh and Danielle didn’t want to see each other before the big moment, so they were each off in different parts of the hotel getting ready. Family and friends were running back and forth between the rooms, and it was so much fun photographing all of the excitement!

Soon it was time for the ceremony. Everyone headed to the beach, where chairs had been set up facing the ocean. Danielle was the first to walk down the aisle with her dad. She waited expectantly for a few minutes, and then Kaleigh walked in with her dad. They were both so happy to see each other for the first time. Throughout the ceremony, Kaleigh and Danielle were all smiles. It was obvious they were meant to be together!

After portraits on the beach, everyone headed back to the Ocean Woods Resort for the reception. The entire building was lovingly decorated with all sorts of details. The cake, in particular, was really neat. It tied perfectly into the beach theme and even featured Kaleigh and Danielle’s names written in brown sugar “sand.” After the cake cutting, it was time for toasts and dancing. The dance floor was packed, and everyone was having a great time sharing in Kaleigh and Danielle’s special day. It was such an awesome group, so full of love and support for this beautiful couple!
