Join us in congratulating Kalee and Shawn, a lovely couple who got married this past summer at the Lucerne Inn in Dedham, Maine. These two enjoy spending time outdoors, playing board games, and snuggling their cat. They first met in high school at a robotics competition. Now, eight years later, they’ve finally tied the knot!

Kalee and Shawn chose the Lucerne Inn for its Maine charm and its views of Phillips Lake and Bald Mountain. The Inn offers a choice of two different wedding reception spaces, the Overlook or the tented patio. Kalee and Shawn picked the patio for its open air feel, which was perfect on this lovely summer’s afternoon.

When we first arrived at the Inn, Kalee’s room was buzzing with excitement. Kalee was there with her friends and family, all of whom were getting ready for the big day. Everyone was so happy and excited, and it was a lot of fun photographing such a special moment. Meanwhile, across the grounds at the Overlook, Shawn was getting ready with an equally large and enthusiastic entourage.

Before long, it was time for Kalee and Shawn to make it official. They said their vows beneath the eaves of the Inn’s gazebo and under the watchful gaze of Bald Mountain off in the distance. After a few tears and much laughter, the happy couple sealed the deal with a kiss and then exited, hand-in-hand, as husband and wife.

The rest of the day was filled with merriment and joy. The Inn cooked up a spectacular meal, as always, and Happily Ever After Entertainment Design put on a great party. Toward sunset, we took the newlyweds out for pictures. There had been a bit of rain earlier in the day (just enough for good luck), and the sky was filled with all sorts of colorful clouds. It was quite stunning!

We enjoyed spending the day with Kalee and Shawn, and it was a privilege photographing their wedding. We wish them much happiness now and in the future. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout. Take a look!
