Jessica and Ken came all the way from New Hampshire to get married in Bar Harbor. They’ve both always loved Maine, and they wanted a coastal feel to their pictures. So they picked the lovely Bar Harbor Inn, which sits right on the water. It’s the perfect spot for anyone wanting a truly Maine wedding experience.

Because the ceremony was scheduled for early afternoon, the day was off to an early start for Jessica and her bridesmaids. Jessica got her hair done at the spa, before heading over to her hotel room for makeup. Jessica’s bridesmaids, Jacquelyn and Katie, were super excited for her, as they helped her get into her dress. And Jessica, of course, looked so beautiful! It was obvious she couldn’t wait to see Ken. She was simply glowing.

Ken, meanwhile, got ready elsewhere on the property with his two brothers, Ben and Keith. They took great care of Ken, and the three of them spent the morning joking and enjoying each other’s company. Ken did a good job not looking nervous, and you could tell he was just as excited as Jessica.

Before long, it was time for the ceremony, which took place on the Inn’s rear lawn overlooking the harbor. Jessica and Ken lucked out, because the weather for their ceremony was perfect – sunny, but not too hot and not too cold. Rain was in the forecast, and we could see the clouds moving in from across the water. But the rain held off just long enough for the ceremony and for formal pictures. Yay!

Once inside the Inn, everyone was too busy enjoying the reception to worry about the rain. Dinner was followed by speeches and cake cutting, and then it was time for dancing. Boy did this group know how to party! Oftentimes, afternoon weddings don’t have much by the way of dancing. But everyone had a great time, and the dance floor was packed all afternoon.

Matt and I had a wonderful time photographing Jessica and Ken’s wedding, and we wish them much happiness! Below are some of my favorite pictures from throughout their day. Enjoy!
