Research has shown that dance can bring people together, and that’s exactly what happened with Jackie and Jamie. Okay, well – maybe not in the way you’d think. Neither of them are dancers, per se. But, in the fall of 2012, Jackie studied abroad in Cheltenham, England. While she was there, she met a fresher named Jamie, and the two of them bonded over Jackie’s not-so-great dance skills and Jamie’s semi-professional dance skills.

Over the years, Jackie and Jamie became very close, traveling and exploring many places together. In March, they visited Acadia National Park, and Jamie proposed at Jordan Pond. How romantic! These days, Jackie and Jamie live in Portland with their dog, Callie. They love trying new restaurants and taking Callie for walks along the beach.

Jackie and Jamie chose the Maine Boathouse for their ceremony and reception location. The Boathouse is a relatively new venue that sits right on the Harrasseket River (better known as the northern arm of Casco Bay). This was our first time photographing there, and we really enjoyed it! The Boathouse is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding, with its cottages and its beautiful water views.

Jackie and Jamie love to laugh and joke around with each other, so it should come as no surprise that their ceremony was full of joy and laughter. The weather was beautiful, and family and friends had come from all over the world to celebrate. You really couldn’t have asked for more!

The ceremony was followed by a cocktails and a reception there on the Boathouse grounds. We stole the couple away for a little while, so we could get a few pictures with them and the gorgeous scenery. It was so much fun photographing Jackie and Jamie. They’re both quick to smile, and they just love being together!
