the Ocean Gateway in Portland, Maine

Gina and Brendan met while attending Bates College. Because of that special connection, these two decided to return to Maine for their wedding. They chose Portland, a city they love visiting together, and were married on a beautiful summer’s afternoon along the Eastern Promenade.

Matt and I began our day at the Clarion Hotel, where Gina and Brendan were each getting ready in separate spots. Gina was surrounded by her bridesmaids, who were helping her get ready for her big day. Brendan, meanwhile, was downstairs with his groomsmen practicing dance moves. Gina and Brendan had choreographed a routine for the entire wedding party, which was to be a surprise during the reception.

Once everyone was ready and the choreography was (mostly) learned, the wedding party made its way to the Eastern Promenade for pictures. Gina and Brendan did a first look, and they were so excited to see each other. It was obvious they couldn’t wait to get married! So, after a few formals of the wedding party, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Family and friends had gathered from all over the country to celebrate, and the ceremony took place on a lovely part of the Promenade near Fort Allen Park. With the harbor as their backdrop, Gina and Brendan said their vows to one another and became husband and wife!

After the ceremony, everyone took a short trip down the road to the Ocean Gateway for the reception. There, all of the guests donned the homemade aprons that Gina and Brendan had lovingly created for them and listened to many heartfelt toasts. Gina and Brendan started the night off right with their choreographed dance routine, and they were soon joined by the rest of their wedding party. Before long, everyone was out on the dance floor, dancing away.

Matt and I had a lot of fun photographing Gina and Brendan’s wedding, and we wish them all the happiness in the world. Below are some of my favorite pictures from their big day. Enjoy!
