Erin and Reed’s Maine Weddingat the Rockport Marine Park
28 Sep 2021, Posted by Wedding Photography inPlease join us in congratulating Erin and Reed! We first met this wonderful couple back in 2019. At the time, they were planning their Maine wedding for early June of 2020. However, then Covid-19 happened and their destination wedding had to be postponed. Over the next year and a half, these two really persevered. They made plans, then they had to change them. They made plans again and continued to adjust them. In the end, their dedication paid off, and they were rewarded with a beautiful summer’s day (a little rain notwithstanding) at the Rockland Marine Park.
We started coverage at the Whitehall Inn, where Erin and Reed were getting ready. This was a joy for us, as we have fond memories photographing weddings at the Whitehall over the years. Both Erin and Reed were so excited, and we couldn’t blame them. This day was a long time in the making! Even though they chose not to have a traditional wedding party, their friends and family helped them get ready – which was really special.
Once Erin and Reed were both looking their best, it was time for a first look on top of Mount Battie. Mount Battie is a special place for Erin and Reed, so they wanted to include this location in their wedding photos. When we got up top, the sun was shining, and the weather was beautiful. Before long, however, a giant thunder storm started to roll in, cutting our photos short. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to get a few nice shots before a massive wall of torrential rain moved over the mount. Erin and Reed took it all in stride nonetheless. After everything they’d been through planning their wedding, they weren’t going to let a little (or a lot of) rain ruin their day. Besides, rain is good luck on your wedding day, right?
It rained hard for about 45 minutes, but then the weather was beautiful. With the weather all cleared up, it was time to get married! Erin and Reed said their I-do’s right on the edge of the harbor surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a lovely ceremony, and we were so happy for them! The rest of the day was filled with all sorts of fun and festivities, capped off by an impressive drum solo by Reed at the end of the night.
We had a wonderful time spending the day with Erin and Reed. They’re such nice people, and we’re so glad they finally got to have their Maine wedding. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout the day. Congratulations, Erin and Reed! May you share a lifetime of happiness together.
