Two and a half years ago, Elyse was out dancing at one of her favorite spots, when she and Fede locked eyes across the room. They talked all night, and then Fede offered her a ride home on his bicycle. The whole ride, they talked about their life stories, their ambitions, and their families. A few months later, on Valentine’s Day, they met again at another dance. This time, they stayed in better contact and started dating shortly thereafter. They’ve been biking, dancing, and adventuring together ever since!

Elyse and Fede were married on a lovely July afternoon at a private, Palladian estate on McCurdy Pond in Bremen, Maine. Fede is Argentinian, and he’s very close to his family. So, despite the distance, his family traveled all the way from Argentina to attend the wedding. Talk about a long trip!

The ceremony took place in a cozy side yard next to the estate’s boathouse, and Fede’s friend, Diego, officiated the ceremony in both English and Spanish. Spanish is such a beautiful language, and, for Matt and me, it was a nice change to hear wedding vows exchanged in a language other than English! Elyse and Fede were probably one of the most excited and energetic couples we’ve ever photographed, and, after Fede broke the glass, the two of them practically ran down the aisle hand-in-hand.

That wasn’t the last time Elyse and Fede were up for a little running, either. When we took them out for formal pictures later in the day, they wanted to get a few photographs running and jumping. Matt and I were happy to oblige! The road leading to the estate was the perfect spot, and we all had so much fun taking those pictures.

Like the ceremony, all of the day’s toasts were given in both English and Spanish. It was a wonderful way to ensure that all of the guests felt welcome and included. The day was filled with an incredible amount of laughter and joy, and even a brief rain shower didn’t stop everyone from having fun.

Matt and I had a fantastic time photographing all of the festivities, and it was such a pleasure working with Elyse and Fede. We feel honored to have spent the afternoon with them, and we wish them much happiness in the future. Below are some of my favorite pictures from throughout their wedding. Enjoy!
