Linda and Tom's Vow Renewal in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine

Meet Linda and Tom. They have spent the last 21 summers camping at Mount Desert Campground with their three sons. This past summer marked their 35th wedding anniversary, and they decided to renew their vows. Acadia National Park, and specifically Hunter’s Beach, holds a special place in their lives and relationship, so there was no doubt about where they would celebrate such an important occasion.

Hunter’s Beach was a spot we had always wanted to visit but hadn’t had the chance to explore until now. Linda described it as “a fairy trail through the woods, with moss and bridges—and then the beach.” It sounded lovely, so we were excited to experience it with Linda and Tom.

On the day of their vow renewal, the weather turned windy and rainy—not ideal for a ceremony by the ocean. Thankfully, we were all able to be flexible with our plans and decided to postpone to the following day, which turned out to be beautiful.

In addition to Linda and Tom, their three sons and a boyfriend joined us. As we walked the trail to the beach, Linda shared many happy memories, and we stopped often to capture photos of her and Tom at the scenic spots along the way. When we finally reached Hunter’s Beach, it was time for the ceremony. Linda and Tom had written a heartfelt vow renewal, with each of their sons taking part.
