Steven’s Proposal to Paula atAcadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine
19 Mar 2024, Posted by Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography inWhen Steven reached out about proposing to his girlfriend, Paula, he already had a location in mind. He had found a picture online of Boulder Beach and really wanted to propose somewhere nearby. We helped him finalize a specific location near Otter Cliff, and he shared with us his plans for the evening. On the day of the proposal, Steven and Paula would arrived at their hotel in Bar Harbor, they would change, and then they would have an early dinner. Afterwards, they would pick up their dog, Nala, and they would head to Acadia National Park to enjoy the sunset (or at least that is what Steven would tell Paula). We would be there to photograph the proposal from a distance, followed by a mini engagement session.
Steven wanted our photography coverage to be a complete surprise, so Matt and I arrived early and pretended to be tourists enjoying the view. Some time after, Steven and Paula arrived and walked around for a few minutes. Steven then got down on one knee and asked Paula to marry him. Paula was very surprised, and she excitedly said YES! The two of them had a happy little moment together, and then we eventually walked over and introduced ourselves to Paula. The four of us then spent the evening taking pictures along the cliffs. Nala was just as excited as her mom and dad, and she had a lot of fun getting her picture taken, too!
It was a lovely evening, and we’re honored that Steven asked us to capture such a special moment. Paula and Steven will be married this May in New Jersey, and we wish them all the happiness in the world. We’ve included our favorite photos from their session below. Enjoy!
