Sam and Jake’s Engagement Session at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine
01 Feb 2021, Posted by Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography inWe first met Sam when she was a senior in high school. Her family was up visiting relatives, and while they were in Maine they booked a family session with us. We enjoyed photographing Sam and her family, and since that time we’ve had the pleasure of working with them more than once. So when Sam’s mom, Kerinne, reached out asking if we would do Sam and Jake’s engagement photos, we were excited! Kerinne booked the session as a surprise, because Sam and Jake weren’t engaged, yet… However, Jake was about to fix that.
Jake flew to Maine while Sam and her family were on vacation. Sam didn’t know that Jake was coming, and Sam’s family helped keep it a secret. On the morning of the session, before we were scheduled to photograph, Sam’s family took her out. That gave Jake plenty of time to set things up at the house. When Sam returned, Jake asked her to marry him. She of course said, yes!
Sam and Jake chose Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park for the first half of the engagement session. Just freshly engaged, they were all laughter and smiles, and we had a wonderful time working with them. After Jordan Pond, we all headed down the road to Seal Harbor Beach for a completely different look. Our evening ended on the beach with this cute couple and a lovely sunset. It was the perfect end to a wonderful day.
We loved being a part of such a special time in Sam and Jake’s lives. They plan to get married in the spring, and we wish them much happiness! Check out some of our favorite photos from their engagement session below.
