Maria and Evan’s Engagement Session at Ship Harbor Trail in Acadia National Park

Maria and Evan met on the first day of classes during their spring semester at Cornell University. During one of their shared classes Maria sat in Evan’s “seat,” prompting a conversation and Maria sharing her number. Evan called and asked her out for dinner that same evening. Maria had such a good time that she asked Evan out for lunch the following day. They have been together ever since!

Evan reached out to us about scheduling an engagement session while they were visiting Acadia National Park. Even though they had been talking about getting married, they weren’t officially engaged yet. Evan was going to change that during their Bar Harbor vacation. While stargazing on Sand Beach a few days before their session was scheduled Evan asked Maria to marry him and she said yes!

The weather on the day of their session looked a little iffy. It was constantly changing and we didn’t know what we were going to get. Normally we would have just switched to their rain date, but that date was also looking rainy. After lots of back and forth we all decided to go for it and hope for the best!

Maria and Evan picked the Ship Harbor Trail in Southwest Harbor for their location. We love this spot and were excited to share it with them. Maria and Evan were naturals in front of the camera. It was obvious that they love being together. Evan couldn’t stop looking at Maria, and Maria was all smiles for Evan. It was really sweet! We lucked out and for most of their session we had little to no rain. It wasn’t until we were heading back that the rain really started to come down. This didn’t phase them at all! We asked if they would be up for stopping for some rain shots. They were all for it. We left the session a little wetter, but it was a wonderful evening rain and all.

Maria and Evan are getting married at the Willowdale Estate on their seventh anniversary in January of 2023, and we’re excited to be there to capture all the fun. Check out some of our favorite photos from their engagement session below!
