Lauren and Mike’s Engagement Sessionin Harrington, Maine
18 May 2022, Posted by Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography inLauren and Mike have been together for seven years. They met on a dating app, where Mike said that he lured Lauren in with photos of foster puppies (would have worked on me!). They had such a great first date that they ended up going back to the same restaurant for their second.
In March of 2020 Mike and Lauren were scheduled to go to Patagonia to celebrate their fifth anniversary. Mike was going to propose the night of their anniversary. However, on the day that they were scheduled to leave (they had already checked in to their flight), Argentina announced new travel restrictions for US travelers due to COVID-19. Unfortunately they had to cancel their trip.
Eight months later Mike had another opportunity to plan a special proposal. They were in Gualala, California this time. This was a special location for Lauren because it was where she had spent many summers with her family. Mike said “I carried the ring in my pocket for two days as we explored the town, and after being foiled one more time by a foggy sunset, I finally proposed on our last night in town, on the deck of our Airbnb looking at the sun setting over the ocean. Our two best friends (now best man and bridesmaid) were on the trip with us and I’d let them in on the plan earlier that day, so they were ready to capture the moment! They ended up making dinner while we called our loved ones to share the news, and we celebrated over a delicious meal. It was the perfect night!”
Lauren and Mike asked to do their engagement session in Harrington at Mike’s family’s vacation home. This property has been in the family for generations, and Mike and his family have been coming here for years. It was a very special place for Mike, and once we saw it we understood why. The cabin overlooks the water and behind it there are several wooded walking trails. There is also a private beach not far from their cabin. It’s a beautiful spot!
Lauren and Mike were a pleasure to work with. They were so natural in front of the camera, and it was easy to tell how much they enjoyed each other’s company. We loved spending the evening with them and getting to explore this beautiful spot. We’re so happy we were able to do their engagement session in such a special place.
Lauren and Mike are getting married this July in California. We wish them a wonderful day and much happiness together! It was really hard to pick, but I have included our favorite pictures from their engagement session below. Enjoy!
