Bar Harbor Maine Engagement Photographer: Genevieve and Adam
22 Aug 2014, Posted by Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography inGenevieve and Adam came all the way from Ohio to vacation in Bar Harbor earlier this summer, and, because the area is so beautiful, they wanted to have their engagement photographs taken while they were here. Genevieve first contacted me several months in advance of their trip, which lead me to guess that she was in the process of planning a fun session – and I was right! She and Adam arrived in ultra-cute, nautical-themed attire that was perfectly suited for a summer session in Bar Harbor. Not only did their outfits match, but Genevieve wore so many fun accessories – from her anchor-shaped earrings, to the red bow in her hair (which I LOVED). She even painted each of her fingernails with a different nautical-inspired design. Talk about fun!
We started in downtown and worked our way toward the harbor, stopping occasionally to chat and take pictures. From the get-go, Genevieve and Adam were so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Matt and I later found out that this was the first official “thing” they had done together as an engaged couple, which was so neat! The weather was perfect, and downtown was relatively uncongested, making it a great evening for a session.
We soon headed over to Acadia National Park. Because it was still relatively early in the season, we lucked out and pretty much had the whole Park to ourselves. Genevieve and Adam switched up their outfits a bit – still nautical, but less “harbor” and more “beach.” It was absolutely the right choice! We started at Sand Beach and made our way over to Thunder Hold shortly before dusk. Even though the sun sets on the opposite side of the island, Thunder Hole is so pretty when the sun starts to go down. The sky becomes filled with blues and pinks, and the rocks stretch out forever. We finished off the session with Genevieve and Adam sharing a moment together under the moon!
Matt and I had a wonderful time with Genevieve and Adam, and we can’t wait to photograph their wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn next summer! Check out some of my favorite pictures from their engagement session below. Enjoy!
