The Best Maine Wedding andEngagement Photographs of 2020
14 Jan 2021, Posted by Engagement Photography, Wedding Photography inAs I sit here reflecting on 2020, it’s hard to believe the year is finally over. No one could have predicted what the year would bring, but our couples didn’t let the pandemic and the ever-changing conditions stop them from celebrating this special time in their lives – even if that celebration wasn’t quite what they originally had in mind.
2020 was the type of year where we were all searching for silver linings. For us, one silver lining was that more couples were able to include their fur babies in their wedding plans. With larger weddings, it’s not always possible to include the pups. But because everything was smaller and more intimate this year, the doggos (and one cat) were able to be a part of the celebration, too. That is a win in our book!
Another silver lining was that several of our couples used the pandemic as a reason to get married in Maine. When things are all topsy-turvy, is there really anywhere better in the world to be than the Maine woods or the Maine coast? Certainly not in summertime!
During a year when so many people were faced with hardship and heartbreak, we were truly blessed to spend our time with such amazing couples and their families. And we got to visit some beautiful locations along the way. One of our favorites was Carson and Bickham’s family home – an old, converted lighthouse that sits right on the ocean. We also got to visit one of our favorite venues, 16 Bayview in Camden, and we visited Acadia National Park several times.
Typically, our Best of Blog only includes our favorite wedding photos. However, this year we’re also including pictures from our engagement sessions. The full engagement blogs will be posted later this winter, but we wanted to included a few sneak peaks for you to enjoy.
Writing this blog is one of our favorite things to do each year. It’s also one of the hardest. We love reliving the season by looking back at each wedding and session, but it is difficult to distill so many great photos into just one blog. We did our best to include favorites from every wedding and engagement session, and we hope you enjoy viewing this blog as much as we did putting it together.
In closing, we want to say a big THANK YOU to all of our 2020 couples. It was an incredibly challenging year, but working with you made it that much better. It was truly a pleasure, and we couldn’t feel more fortunate.
