The S. and B. Family’s Portrait Session at Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park
10 Aug 2019, Posted by Family Photography inMeet the S. and B. family! When Jessica first reached out she told me her family hadn’t done a family portrait for twenty-five years. Jessica and her siblings decided that since they were all going to vacation together in Bar Harbor, now was the perfect time to change that. So they gifted a family portrait session to their parents, and the rest is history.
Ken and Maria (Jessica’s parents) have vacationed in the Bar Harbor area for many years, so the family left the location for their session up to them. They choose Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park because they said it really reminded them of Acadia. They also choose it because of all the different backdrop options.
Their group included a total of seven children between the ages of 1-12. As you can imagine, that many children under the age of seven can sometimes be challenging to photograph as a group. However, these kids were amazing! Matt and I couldn’t get over how well everyone did, even the young children. Matt and I always photograph larger family sessions together to help maximize our time while the kids are still into the session. There’s also a lot less waiting around to do the smaller groups with two of us on hand. I’m sure that helped a lot, but I’m still amazed by how well everyone did!
We really enjoyed our time with this wonderful family, and we hope they come back to Bar Harbor again soon! Below are some of our favorite pictures from their family portrait session. Enjoy!
