The H. Family’s Portrait Session at Sand Beach in Acadia National Park
02 Jan 2018, Posted by Family Photography inBack in August I had the pleasure of photographing Kristi and her extended family. They came all the way from Maryland and Pennsylvania to vacation together in Bar Harbor. While in the area Kristi and her sister Nicole wanted to schedule a family portrait session as a gift to their mom Pat, who would be celebrating her 70th birthday. When they told Pat about the plan she started crying because she was so happy. When Kristi told me about her mom’s reaction I had a feeling this was going to be a special session.
They all wanted a location that was on the water and would remind them of their trip to Maine. In the end Kristi’s mom decided on Sand Beach in Acadia National Park for their family portrait session. When they asked me what I thought of Sand Beach, I told them I loved it for portrait sessions because there are so many places to go and it’s easy to move around the beach if there are people nearby.
The day of their session came, and we had a beautiful evening. We arrived at Sand Beach as most people were leaving, so we had free range of the beach (a big advantage of shooting later in the day). From the minute I met the H. family I knew this was going to be a fun session. Everyone was so excited to spend an evening at the beach getting their photos taken. The H. family was so sweet and happy to go wherever I asked. I had a lot of fun chatting with Kristi and her family as we walked all around the beach. We finished up their session as the light was beginning to fade. I had a blast working with them all! I hope they had a wonderful time in Maine and visit again soon.
I’ve included some of my favorite pictures from their family portrait session below. Enjoy!
