Lauren and Jarod’s Wedding at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine

Weddings have a way of bringing people together. Not only do two families become one, but longtime friends get reunited and, sometimes, new friendships are born. It just so happens that that’s how Lauren and Jarod met – at a wedding!

Lauren grew up being best friends with Jarod’s sister. So, when Jarod’s sister got married, she of course asked Lauren to be a bridesmaid. At the wedding, Lauren was paired to walk down the aisle with Jarod. The two of them danced during the reception and soon became fast friends. They started dating just a few months later, and they’ve been together for over four years now. Isn’t that a great story?!

This past July, Lauren and Jarod were married during their own beautiful ceremony at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine. There, overlooking the Kennebec River and surrounded by their closest family and friends, Lauren and Jarod said their vows and became husband and wife. The weather was beautiful, and Lauren and Jarod couldn’t stop smiling at one another. A nicer, cuter couple you’ll never meet, and we were incredibly happy for the two of them.

Jarod is a lobsterman, and the theme of the day was – you guessed it – lobster! The ceremony location featured lobster traps that had been painted and decorated with flowers, and, inside the reception hall, the tables were adorned with lobster bibs, crackers, and name tags. As a party favor for their guests, Lauren and Jarod gave out little lobster bouys, which Lauren’s mother hand painted (talk about a lot of work). And, because any Maine wedding would be incomplete without lobster on the menu, Jarod provided more than enough lobsters to go around.

We feel so fortunate to have spent the day with Lauren, Jarod, and their families. It was a pleasure photographing their wedding, and we wish them years of happiness together. You never know – maybe two of their guests met and fell in love. It’s possible, right?
