C Family Portrait Sessionin Blue Hill, Maine15 Jan 2017, Posted by Family Photography in
Last summer Jean and her family rented two houses in beautiful Blue Hill, Maine. Her grown children and their families live all over the country, which means it’s rare to have everyone in one place at the same time. Because of that she knew she wanted to schedule a family portrait session before everyone returned home. We went back and forth about locations for their session, and eventually decided on one of the houses that they would be renting. The houses both overlooked Penobscot Bay, and the one we choose to use had a balcony overlooking the water. Jean lucked out to rent such a lovely spot!
We had a beautiful summer evening for their portrait session. The family had just returned from dinner, and after all the children were cleaned up we started their family portrait session. Jean has a large family with several young grandchildren. Because of that I brought Matt along to help photograph the smaller family units while I worked with some of the other groupings. With children as young as Jean’s grandchildren, their attention span can be pretty short! That’s why Matt and I often photograph the larger family sessions together.
I really enjoyed working with Jean and her beautiful family. I’m so glad I was able to capture this special vacation for them. I hope they enjoyed their time in Maine and return again soon! I’ve included some of my favorite pictures from their family portrait session below.
