The T. Family’s Portrait Session atAsticou Azalea Garden in Northeast Harbor23 Jan 2018, Posted by Family Photography in
I first met Mary and her family of four back in July. She is the cousin of one of my favorite clients, so I was excited when she reached out about booking a family portrait session while she was vacationing in Bar Harbor.
Normally Acadia National Park is the top location choice when I get inquiries for Bar Harbor photography sessions. And that’s not surprising! It’s an incredibly beautiful area. However, in Mary’s case she had no specific requests. All she was looking for was a beautiful area for her family’s portraits. I sent her a bunch of suggestions, and they decided on the Asticou Azalea Garden in Northeast Harbor.
The day of their portrait session arrived, and it was forecasted to drizzle off and on all day. We talked about rescheduling, but in the end Mary decided to go ahead with the session. I’m so happy she did, because while it was a little foggy we had some lovely light for their family portrait session. Also because it wasn’t an ideal day there were fewer visitors in the garden. This made it much easier to move around and photograph, which was a win-win!
Mary and her family were wonderful to photograph. They were all so easy going and no one even noticed the fog. This was the first time I had photographed a family at the Asticou Azalea Garden, and I’m so glad Mary picked it. It’s a great option for a portrait session if you want a location away from the crowds in Acadia. I had a lot of fun exploring the garden with them!
I enjoyed my time with Mary and her family. I’ve included some of my favorite photos from our time together below!
