About Me

Hi, I’m Lexi! Thanks for visiting my site. I’m a wedding and portrait photographer serving central, coastal, and southern Maine, as well as parts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I live in the Bangor area with my husband (and assistant), Matt. We met in college and have been together for nearly 10 years. True story: When we first met, we spent so long talking that I unknowingly missed my next class! I can’t remember what class it was, but I do remember we talked for at least three hours. I guess it was meant to be!

We own a home that we’ve been slowly improving over the years. To all you couples out there: Do not, and I repeat, do not try to renovate your home and get married at the same time! I can say this from personal experience.

When we’re not taking or editing pictures, Matt and I like to spend time outside, visit with family, and take short trips to any of Maine’s beautiful places. We’re fortunate to live in such a beautiful state, even though the winters are really cold!

The arts have always been a big part of my life. I started dancing at an early age and later became enamored with musical theater. Occasionally, Matt and I will perform in local productions. We’re both singers, him a tenor and me a soprano. After college, I became more and more interested in photography. After practicing a lot and taking a number of classes, I decided to finally take the plunge and start my own business. It was definitely a bit scary at first, and it’s been a huge commitment of time and energy, but it’s been well worth it. I love working with my clients and sharing in their experiences! There’s something about photography that is incredibly emotional and enduring. It’s fun, rewarding, and humbling to be responsible for capturing so many amazing moments.

Okay, that’s enough with the prose. Here are a few pictures that tell a little more about me. Just hover/click!

Matt and I were married on September 5, 2010 at the Boathouse in Belfast, Maine. We managed to get the one beautiful day sandwiched between a hurricane and a thunderstorm!

I’ve been a vegetarian for a little over nine years now. I do eat fish, eggs, and dairy products, however. Cheese is one of my favorite foods.

I started dancing when I was four (see the middle picture!) and danced for nearly seventeen years. It was a huge part of my life growing up, and I do miss it. These days, I enjoy watching and photographing dance of all styles.

A nice cold iced chai latte is a staple of mine. No coffee for me!

I use Canon cameras and lenses, and sometimes I think I should have taken out stock in the company!

I love to read. I like a sorts of different genres, though I gravitate toward fantasy and science fiction. Harry Potter is one of my all-time favorites (I’ve read it all twice).

I’m a huge fan of musical theater. I like listening to it, watching it, and performing in it! Wicked is one of my absolute favorite musicals (I’ve seen it twice), though I also love Phantom of the Opera and Jekyll & Hyde.

Some of my favorite shows/series include Anne of Green Gables, Gilmore Girls, and I Love Lucy. Though the geek in me also likes Battlestar Galactica, Twin Peaks, Doctor Who, and Firefly to name a few.

Matt and I both got business degrees from the University of Maine. I never thought I’d run a small business, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else!

A big thanks to Kate Crabtree Photography for her portraits of Matt and me!
